POLNET PLUS Summer School in July 2016 in Konstanz, Germany
We are pleased to announce that this year we will organize for the fourth time POLNET PLUS, an International Summer School for Advanced Political and Social Network Analysis. It will take place at the University of Konstanz, Germany, from 08th – 09th July 2016.
The summer school invites MA/PhD-students, researchers, and practitioners interested in theory-driven empirical research on networks in the social and political sciences. This year it will offer an introduction into Collecting Political Network Data in the Digital Age.
The “digital revolution” provides us with new possibilities and challenges to collect data for social network analysis. In this summer school we present various forms of network data collection, including online surveys, Wikipedia collaboration networks, social media data (Twitter) and qualitative mining of text databases with discourse network analysis, and the latest visualizations with Visone. This two-day seminar (Friday and Saturday, 8th and 9th July) includes 8 sessions (2 refresher sessions and 6 lectures on digital data collection techniques) and a Keynote speak by Bernie Hogan (Oxford Internet Institute) on “Online Social Networks: Concepts for data collection and analysis”.
Please find attached the POLNETPLUS 2016 poster. We would very much appreciate if you could inform your colleagues and students about this opportunity. The deadline for applications is 15th June 2016.
